The Inner Planets of the Solar system
The planets
There are eight planets in our solar system. They are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Pluto used to be a planet but is now considered a dwarf planet.

The sun is at the center of our solar system. Over one million Earths could fit in the sun.

Mercury
The four inner planets are made of rock. The first is Mercury, the closest planet to the sun. A year on Mercury takes 88 Earth days.

The next planet is Venus. Venus is the second brightest object in the night sky.
